Gandhinagar: On Thursday, in response to a question by AAP MLA Gopal Italia in the assembly, govt said that Rs 1 crore each was allotted in 2024-25 and 2025-26 for setting up and construction of a medical university. Sources said that there is still no clarity on whether dental, physiotherapy, homoeopathy, and nursing colleges will be included under the proposed medical university. There are about 1,000 such colleges that are operational in the state. Sources said that the location for the proposed medical university was also not finalized yet.
