Nagpur: A three-day training programme for 40 field trainers for the first phase of the 2027 digital census concluded at the district planning hall in Gadchiroli.Jointly organised by the Census Directorate, Mumbai, and the Gadchiroli collector’s office, the training was held from April 6 to 8. The 2027 census will be conducted entirely in a paperless, digital mode, and the field trainers will, in turn, train enumerators and supervisors at the taluka level.Assistant director at the Census Directorate, Mumbai, Jogendra Tamgadge, and naib tehsildar Hemant Mohre served as the principal resource persons. Resident deputy collector and district census officer Ashish Wankhede, along with tehsildar Santosh Ashtiker, also guided participants and addressed their queries.At the closing session, collector Avishyant Panda urged the field trainers to conduct taluka-level training with accuracy and a strong sense of responsibility. He said accurate recording of every unit was critical in a digitally conducted census.
