Gaya: With lakhs of pilgrims expected to visit Gaya during the Pitripaksh Mela from Sept25 to Oct 10, the district administration has introduced an AI-enabled Google Translator facility at ‘May I Help You’ counters to provide multilingual assistance to visitors who do not speak or understand Hindi.According to a release issued by the information and public relations department (IPRD), the initiative aims to make the annual pilgrimage more convenient and accessible for devotees arriving from different parts of the country and abroad.As part of a wider digital outreach programme, the administration has also launched a dedicated website, ‘Pinddaan Gaya Ji’, and the ‘Pind Daan Gaya Ji’ mobile app to offer official information on pind daan vedis, accommodation, transport, traffic management, health facilities and emergency services through a single platform.Pilgrims will also be able to access information on railway and air connectivity, parking facilities, transport services and fares, as well as the locations of toilets, drinking water points, police camps and health camps in the mela area.The mobile app features quick-access links to police, hospitals, ambulances and helpline numbers. A digital lost-and-found system has also been integrated, enabling pilgrims to report missing persons, provide information about found individuals and track case updates.An integrated chatbot will assist visitors with information on accommodation, emergency contacts and other services, including their locations. The platform will also allow pilgrims to register online, submit feedback and lodge complaints.The website and app will be used to disseminate official announcements, alerts and updates during the mela, ensuring that visitors can access key information on their mobile phones while travelling to or staying in Gaya.The website can be accessed at pinddaangaya.bihar.gov.in, while the ‘Pind Daan Gaya Ji’ app is available on the Google Play Store, the IPRD said.
