Kanpur: The Kannauj administration on Tuesday attached 11 properties worth Rs 5.25 crore belonging to the gang of former block head Nawab Singh Yadav and his brother Neelu Yadav under the Gangsters Act. The attached assets include three residential buildings and eight agricultural plots, which officials said were purchased using proceeds of crime.The action was carried out in Kannauj district under the supervision of SDM Navneeta Rai and Deputy SP Shilpa Verma in the presence of a heavy police force.The administrative team attached properties located in Kadroli Bangar, Gadanpur Baddu, and the area around Gauri Shankar Mandir. Officials said the assets had been acquired using money earned through the gang’s criminal activities and were therefore attached under the provisions of the Gangsters Act.Strict security arrangements were in place during the operation. Authorities pasted attachment notices on the properties and made public announcements to inform residents about the administrative action. A large number of villagers gathered at the sites to witness the proceedings.According to officials, Nawab Singh Yadav is lodged in Banda Jail, while his brother is lodged in Kaushambi Jail. They said both are facing action in several serious criminal cases. The administration added that it is continuously identifying and attaching properties allegedly acquired through criminal activities.
