Pune: The district election machinery has yet to generate notices for 4,01,075 of the 13,32,845 electors flagged for verification. The notice generation and distribution process started in the state on Monday.Notices were generated for 9,31,783 electors, leaving 30% pending. Of these, only 3,157 were delivered, while 9,28,626 still await delivery, according to the latest district report shared by district election officials.They said the notices are being sent by WhatsApp or through BLOs who will personally visit the houses. “The notices are being forwarded as per convenience,’’ officials said.As many as 13.33 lakh electors were flagged during scrutiny of SIR enumeration data after discrepancies were found in matching their current details with earlier electoral rolls. The exercise covers electors who remain unmapped to the previous roll and those with logical discrepancies, requiring verification before their names can be finalised in the revised roll.District officials said that statewide, the notices have been generated for both unmapped electors and those with logical discrepancies.The notice generation is particularly lagging for rural assembly constituencies, according to the data. The backlog is particularly high in Shirur (50,330), Bhor (49,088), Purandar (42,707), Khed-Alandi (41,890) and Khadakwasla (38,359). Hadapsar has 20,900 notices pending generation and Chinchwad 28,900.With hearings scheduled to begin next week, the administration now has to generate and deliver the remaining notices and give the electors an opportunity to submit documents and establish their eligibility within SIR timeline, said officials.“Hearings will start post Ganeshotsav,” officials said. Eligible voters whose names are missing from the draft can seek inclusion until Oct 29.The district has also received 12,138 Form 8 applications for corrections or updation of voter details. Another 268 Form 7 applications seeking deletion of names have been received.Of the 29,249 Form 6 applications, 2,557 were online and 26,692 offline submissions. Of the 268 submissions for Form 7, 82 were sent online and 186 were offline. Of the 12,138 Form 8 applications, 10,966 came online and 1,172 were sent offline.
