PUNE: A social media influencer was made to publicly apologise to MNS chief Raj Thackeray after party workers confronted him over a reel that allegedly mocked the leader.Mahesh Mote was made to prostrate before a photograph of Raj Thackeray, had his face smeared with black ink and was made to perform sit-ups with slippers on his head before recording an apology video.Mote was seen in tears in the video released by MNS leader, apologising over the reel and asking not to be harassed further.The workers also smeared black ink on his face and made him do sit-ups with slippers placed on his head.Following which he was made to prostrate before a photograph of Raj Thackeray.With folded hands, he offered an “unconditional” apology to Raj Thackeray and MNS workers.“I said something wrong about Raj Saheb, and I mistakenly spoke inappropriately about Shubham Dada and other MNS office-bearers. Today, I deeply regret my mistake. I sincerely apologise to the MNS party and to all of you,” Mote said in the apology video.According to Shubham Jagdale, MNS sub-divisional president for the Hadapsar Assembly constituency, the influencer had used extremely abusive language against MNS chief Raj Thackeray in a video posted a few days ago.
