Bhilwara: The district special team and Bhadsoda police station of Chittorgarh district Wednesday seized 730 litres of petrol, 100 litres of diesel along with fuel-filling equipment and arrested one accused, exposing a business of illegal storage and sale of stolen petrol in the highway area.Chittorgarh Superintendent of Police, Dharmendra Singh said that DST team in-charge assistant sub-inspector Suraj Kumar received a tip that Prem Chand Mali was storing illegal petrol and diesel and selling it illegally at Bhadsoda Main Chauraha.Kumar was sent to the spot as a decoy customer, where Prem Chand Mali was allegedly found carrying out an illegal sale. Police received the information and reached Bhadsoda Chauraha, where four drums containing 730 litres of petrol and 100 litres of diesel in five cans of illegal stolen fuel were seized from the enclosure of Mali. He was then arrested.The seized petrol and diesel were allegedly stolen from vehicle tankers and trucks travelling to and from Chittorgarh and Udaipur that stopped in front of the accused’s house. After buying the inflammable liquid petrol-diesel at a low price and storing it illegally, it was sold to local customers at a higher price.
