Alwar: A 19-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide at her home in Kotputli-Behror district Tuesday, with family members saying she was under stress after her medical entrance examination did not go as expected. No suicide note was found, police said.Kamakshi, a resident of Indira Colony under Behror-Kotwali police station limits, was alone at home when the incident occurred. Her younger siblings went to school, while her parents, both teachers, were at work.According to her father, Jagdish Prasad, a science teacher at a private school, Kamakshi spent two years in Jaipur preparing for NEET and appeared for the exam on June 21. Since returning home, she has been under stress as she felt her performance was below expectations. She was also pursuing the first year of the BSTC course, and her examinations concluded on July 11.Prasad said the family tried to counsel and reassure her. On Tuesday morning, his wife, Reena Devi, a Hindi lecturer at Mahatma Gandhi Rajkiya Vidyalaya in Dahmi, called Kamakshi around 10am to check on her. She told her mother that she had already eaten her food.When Reena Devi returned home around 1.30pm, she found the main entrance latched from outside and a side gate locked from inside. After entering the house, she found Kamakshi hanging in a room. Neighbours were alerted, and she was taken to a private hospital in Behror, where doctors declared her dead.Behror police ASI Krishna Kumar said a case was registered on the father’s complaint. The body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem.
