Noida: The health department has issued 73 notices to housing societies and residential establishments for lapses that could encourage mosquito breeding and increase the risk of dengue and malaria. Officials said 15 housing societies were specifically served notices for failing to take preventive measures.Some of the highrises which have been served notices are Kalypso Court and Wish Town in Sector 128, Amrapali Silicon City in Sector 76, Amrapali Heartbeat City in Sector 107, Grand Ajnara Heritage in Sector 93B, Apex Golf Avenue, Ajnara Homes, Galaxy Vega, Supertech Ecovillage-3, Panchsheel Greens in Greater Noida West, Samriddhi Grand Avenue, ACE Aspire, The Great Value Sharanam in Sector 107, Best Tech Park in Sector 137, Irish Pearls and Amrapali Leisure Valley in Greater Noida.This year, the district has recorded 91 dengue cases and 50 malaria cases. Last year, the district saw 650 cases of dengue and 189 cases of malaria.“The department is carrying out regular inspections across housing societies and residential establishments since June to identify and eliminate potential mosquito-breeding sites. Wherever stagnant water or other lapses are found, notices are being issued and the establishments are being asked to take immediate corrective measures. Preventive action by residents and maintenance teams is particularly important during the monsoon to reduce the risk of dengue and malaria,” said district malaria officer Sruti Verma.The department told RWAs to conduct cleanliness drives and eliminate water stagnation. The health official said residents are being regularly informed about preventive measures such as ensuring there is no water stagnation, overhead tanks and coolers are cleaned every week, water storage containers are covered and unused tyres and containers are disposed of on time.Earlier in July, it had identified six to seven hotspots in the district. These included gated societies in Sector 50, Barola, Surajpur and Kasna.
