Guwahati: Police arrested six alleged interstate robbers for targeting train passengers in the city.Acting on specific intelligence, a team from Jalukbari police station raided a hotel in Maligaon on Saturday and detained the suspects.They were identified as Sonu and Kuldeep of Rohtak, Krishna Rana, Praveen Kumar and Satyawan of Bhiwani, and Sanjay Kumar of Hisar in Haryana.A police officer said the investigation is under way to determine their nexus and modus operandi. “It has been found that they were engaged in such robberies in other states as well,” the officer added.Last month, police arrested two persons — Ritesh Kumar of Jharkhand and Mahesh Kumar of Uttar Pradesh — for allegedly trying to rob a lower court magistrate in Nalbari district.
