Panchkula: More than 550 youths and students participated in a Tiranga Yatra organised in the city Thursday as part of the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign being observed from Aug 9 to 17 ahead of Independence Day.The procession was flagged off by Panchkula SDM Chandrakant Kataria from Yavanika Park in Sector 5. The march passed through Shalimar Ground before returning to its starting point. Participants carrying the Tricolour raised patriotic slogans, creating an atmosphere of enthusiasm and national pride.Kataria said the district administration was organising a series of public outreach activities under the campaign, including cycle rallies, bike rallies, e-bike rallies and Tiranga Yatras across the district. He said children, youth and residents were participating enthusiastically, helping spread the message of patriotism and respect for the national flag.As part of the campaign, selfie points have been set up at prominent locations, enabling citizens to take photographs with the Tricolour and join the initiative. Schools and educational institutions are also holding speech, painting and essay-writing competitions centred on patriotism to encourage participation among students.The SDM appealed to residents to actively support the campaign by hoisting the national flag at their homes and taking part in various events being organised across the district.
