Thane: The Thane motor accident claims tribunal told MSRTC to pay Rs 44.2 lakh to the family of a 54-year-old who died after being hit by a bus in 2019. The victim was on his scooter when the bus driver ran him over. He died 41 days later. MSRTC said the deceased had been rash while riding and pointed to a 74-day delay in filing an FIR. The tribunal found both parties partially negligent. —Nishikant Karlikar
