The National Lok Adalat was conducted to facilitate the settlement of pending cases through conciliation and mutual agreement

Dhubri: The National Lok Adalat settled 43 Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) cases at Dhubri Court on Saturday, awarding compensation totalling nearly ₹1.97 crore.The Lok Adalat was held in accordance with the directions of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). Dhubri district and sessions judge and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) chairperson Bablu Sutradhar presided over the proceedings.The settled cases involved compensation totalling ₹1,97,00,000.The National Lok Adalat was conducted under the legal services framework to facilitate the settlement of pending cases through conciliation and mutual agreement. The process provides an accessible, speedy and cost-effective alternative to prolonged litigation.
