Dhubri: Two 12-year-old schoolboys went missing in the Brahmaputra at Panchughat in Dhubri on Saturday, triggering a search operation.The boys were identified as Sumit Das and Purab Malla, both Class VII students of Dhubri Govt Boys’ Higher Secondary School and R K Bose High School, respectively.Joygopal Dey, a Panchughat resident, told TOI that he heard some boys had been playing football on the riverbank around 9 am and may have been swept into deeper water.The State Disaster Response Force launched a search operation in the river. However, the boys remained untraced until 6 pm as strong currents and the river’s depth hampered the search.
