Prayagraj: Pratapgarh superintendent of police Deepak Bhukar on Tuesday suspended four sub-inspectors on the charges of dereliction of duty and indiscipline. Those facing action were SI Santosh Paswan and SI Dinesh Rai of Antoo police station, SI Anupam Patel of outpost incharge Belkharnathdham-Dilippur police station) and SI Ajay Kumar Anchal of reserve police lines. “He is continuously reviewing the conduct and work ethic of police personnel with a view to controlling crime and maintaining effective law and order within the district. In furtherance of this initiative, strict disciplinary action has been taken against the officers for negligence, apathy and arbitrariness in the discharge of official duties,” a senior police officer said. Recently, instances of extreme laxity and arbitrary conduct on the part of the SI regarding his official responsibilities came to light. Deeming such conduct to be in violation of Police Regulations and constituting an act of indiscipline, action was taken. Moreover, a departmental inquiry has also been initiated.
