Hazaribag: Ahead of Durga Puja, Hazaribag Police launched a district-wide crackdown on illegal liquor early Sunday. Twenty-eight teams comprising 198 officers and personnel raided 68 locations suspected of illicit liquor manufacture or sale.Police seized 375 litres of country liquor and destroyed 303.2 quintals of ‘java mahua’, used to brew illicit liquor. SP Aman Kumar said strict action against illegal liquor manufacturing and sale would continue.The drive aims to maintain law and order during Durga Puja celebrations across Hazaribag district and strengthen security measures for the festival season, police said after the operation Sunday morning.
