Canacona: A 37-year-old man, Sanjay Naik, was allegedly attacked with iron rods and a sword inside a chicken centre at Mashem, Canacona, on Wednesday, and died as a result of the attack.Locals alleged that the suspect has a history of aggression and later also refused to allow Naik’s body to be taken out of the crime scene, stating that they would only allow it after the suspect was arrested. The murder triggered public outrage, with locals alleging that Canacona police failed to act on earlier complaints against the suspect.Locals said Naik had complained that he had received threats from the suspect in the past, including threats to use sharp weapons.
