During the operation, security personnel came under fire from suspected militants, triggering an exchange of fire. The operation continued across difficult terrain for three days, culminating in the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and war-like stores.According to security inputs, the recovered arms include 17 single and double barrel guns, along with eight high-powered weapons comprising two AK-47 rifles, one M4 carbine, two SLRs, one SKS rifle, and one improvised .303 sniper rifle. The security forces also recovered 11 SBL rifles, along with assorted ammunition, communication equipment and other war-like stores used by armed groups.Security forces said the recovery indicates continued presence of concealed armed infrastructure in remote hill pockets, even as operations against militant groups remain ongoing across Manipur’s sensitive zones.Further combing operations are underway in adjoining areas to trace additional caches and identify those involved, officials added.
