Kanpur: A 34-year-old man was found dead at his home in Jarouli Phase-2 under Gujaini police station in Kanpur late on Thursday evening, police said.Sumit, son of Shri Babu, a labourer, returned home from duty in an inebriated state. Next morning his daughter found his body hanging from the ceiling of his room.The family members told the police that after receiving no response for a long time, they opened his room and found his body hanging.On being informed, Gujaini police and a forensic team arrived at the site and inspected the scene. The police collected evidence and took Sumit’s mobile phone into custody for examination. His body was sent for post-mortem. Sumit is survived by his wife Sapna, a son and a daughter.Station house officer Rajan Sharma said, “The family is being questioned. Further action will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report and the complaint from the family.”
