Kanpur: The body of a 32-year-old man was found by the roadside near Namak Factory Chauraha in the Rawatpur area of Kanpur on Saturday.Local residents informed the police after spotting the body. On reaching the spot, police found a mobile phone near the body and used it to inform his family.The deceased was identified as Monu Diwakar, a resident of Maswanpur.His wife told police that Diwakar was addicted to alcohol and often returned home in an inebriated state and assaulted her. She said she had been living separately with their two children for about a year due to his behaviour.Rawatpur police station in-charge Kamlesh Kumar Roy said the body has been sent for postmortem examination and the exact cause of death would be clear only after the report is received.Further action will be taken based on the report, he said.
