CHARKHI DADRI: Seven people were injured after unidentified assailants opened indiscriminate fire outside the City Police Station in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, in a brazen daylight attack on Wednesday.According to the preliminary police investigation, three attackers arrived on a motorcycle, intercepted a black Mahindra Scorpio SUV, and fired around 30 rounds at the vehicle before fleeing the scene.The SUV was riddled with bullets.According to the police, the incident took place when the individuals had come to the Dadri court for a hearing.Preliminary investigation suggests that the incident appears to be the result of a gang rivalry.Those injured have been identified as Ankit (Charkhi Dadri), Kirtiman (Hisar), Suraj (Manheru), Ankit (Bhiwani), Sunny (Hisar), Krishna (Mahendragarh) and Amit (Fatehgarh).The injured were initially taken to the Civil Hospital before being referred to PGIMS Rohtak for advanced treatment.The shooting triggered panic in the area, prompting police to cordon off the locality and launch a search operation to trace the suspects.Charkhi Dadri superintendent of police Lokesh Kumar said police received information about the incident around 1pm.Preliminary findings suggest the attack may have been linked to a gang rivalry, though investigators are examining all possible angles.Senior police officers visited the hospital following the incident, and the investigation into the motive behind the shooting is ongoing.Police are examining CCTV footage from the area, and the investigation is ongoing.A forensic team has also been called to the scene and is collecting evidence as part of the investigation.
