T‘puram: Pangode Police on Saturday arrested three youths in connection with the alleged attack on a truck driver and two others at Pangode on Wednesday.The arrested are Vishnu, 24, Noufal, 26 and Akhil, 23.The incident occurred around 10pm when the accused allegedly followed a vehicle carrying granite for a marble company. The group allegedly abused the driver and tried to stop the vehicle and assault him.The vehicle later stopped at the house of Shyamalal at Panniyode to unload the granite. The accused allegedly reached the spot and again attempted to attack the driver. They also assaulted two locals, Pradeesh and Binu, who were present at the location, the police said.The accused allegedly used a rod to smash the front glass of the truck.The police registered a case following the incident, after which the accused allegedly went into hiding.Acting on confidential information received by District Police Chief Prashanth Kani IPS, a police team led by Attingal DSP Aji Chandran Nair traced and arrested the three accused.The team comprised Vellarada CI Jayakrishnan, Pangode SHO Nadirshan, ASI Priju and police officers Al Ameen, Aneesh and Binesh.
