Shimla: Himachal Pradesh chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday announced that a three-time attendance system would soon be introduced in 150 CBSE govt schools across the state.Attendance will be recorded at three stages — morning arrival, during the lunch break and at the time of departure.Chairing a meeting, the CM also announced separate dress codes for teachers and students. The prescribed dress code for teachers will be mandatory from Oct 1, with each teacher receiving one-time financial assistance of Rs 5,000 to buy the uniform. A decision on the students’ uniform is expected within a week.Around 1,200 teachers have already been appointed to these schools, with further recruitment planned. The govt will also provide an additional Rs 80 crore to improve infrastructure and strengthen facilities, he added.Sukhu said the initiative aimed to ensure quality education, particularly for children in rural areas, closer to their homes. He directed the education department to ensure effective implementation.
