Nagpur: Umred police have arrested three men for allegedly posing as policemen and robbing travellers of their gold ornaments. Jewellery worth around 2 lakh was recovered from the accused, police said. The accused have been identified as Taleb Irani, Firoz Khan and Jafar Beg, all residents of Parli Vaijnath, Beed.Police said technical evidence helped investigators identify the suspects. A special team from Umred police then raided Irani Mohalla in Shivaji Nagar. The accused fled after spotting the police. Police conducted a legal search of the house in the presence of panch witnesses.During the search, police recovered two gold rings and two gold gopas, collectively valued at around 2 lakh. Two similar cases had been registered at Umred police station. The three accused have been arrested and further investigation is underway.
