Nagpur: Kalmeshwar police arrested three persons, seizing 50 fake currency notes of 500 denomination in swift action against circulation of counterfeit notes in the town.The case came to light on Aug 23 when two labourers, Dilip Yadav (39), resident of district Mandla, Madhya Pradesh, and Sunil Yadav (32), resident of Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, visited a wine shop at Bazar Chowk in Kalmeshwar.The two attempted to buy country liquor by tendering a 500 note to shop manager, Narendra Walde (49), resident of Kalmeshwar.The moment Walde received the note, he noticed it felt different and alerted Kalmeshwar police.Responding promptly, police reached the spot, arrested both the accused and recovered seven fake 500 notes from their possession.On basis of Walde’s complaint, a case was registered.The operation was carried out under guidance of senior SP Nagpur Rural, Harssh A Poddar and additional SP Anil Mhaske.The accused disclosed the notes had been supplied by their contractor, Paramlal Malvi (25), resident of Varoda, Kalmeshwar. Police took Malvi into custody. Forty-three additional fake 500 notes were recovered from him, taking the total seizure to 50 notes. TNN
