MANGALURU: Three men have been arrested for allegedly facilitating employment for illegal Bangladeshi nationals at construction sites in Mangaluru, police said on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Moydin Islam, Rasool Islam and Dilwar Husain, all residents of West Bengal. A case has been registered against them. According to police, the preliminary investigation revealed that the accused were bringing labourers from various North Indian states to Mangaluru. They are also alleged to have illegally brought Bangladeshi nationals into the city and deployed them at multiple construction sites. Moydin Islam and Dilwar Husain were arrested in Mangaluru, while Rasool Islam was apprehended in Kolkata with the assistance of Kolkata Police, a senior police officer said. A team from the Mangaluru City Police, coordinated by the DCP (Law and Order), has already left for Kolkata to bring Rasool Islam to Mangaluru. Further interrogation is expected to reveal whether more individuals are part of the network, according to Commissioner of Police, Mangaluru City Police, Sudheer Kumar Reddy.
