Jamshedpur: Three Maoists, including zonal committee member Saluka Kayam alias Bhuvneshwar, surrendered before police on Friday, a senior officer at the state police headquarters said.Saluka, who was active in the Saranda region, was wanted in 96 criminal cases and carried a reward of Rs 10 lakh announced by the state govt, according to police records. Two women cadres, identified as Pinky and Kodomuni, also surrendered. Kodomuni carried a govt-announced reward, though its amount was not immediately known.Sources in West Singhbhum police attributed the surrenders to continuing anti-Maoist operations, pressure from security forces, fewer safe hideouts and a weakened organisational network.A senior officer said details of the surrenders would be shared with the media. West Singhbhum police had not issued an official statement till late Friday evening.
