Palanpur: Three people were killed and four others were seriously injured after a van carrying a family from Anjar town of Kutch district, rammed into the rear of a truck parked on National Highway 27 near Raghavji Hotel on the Radhanpur-Varahi road post Saturday midnight.The accident occurred around 1am when the family was returning to Anjar after visiting Khatu Shyam pilgrimage in Rajasthan.The deceased were identified as Vishnu Ahir, Sunil Ahir and Shaktisinh Jadeja, all from Chandhi village of Anjar.The injured were initially taken to Radhanpur govt referral hospital. After receiving primary treatment, they were shifted to Dharpur Medical College.Police said the truck was carrying stock meant for a govt subsidised ration shop and was travelling from Viramgam towards Santalpur. Police said efforts were under way to trace and apprehend the truck driver, who allegedly fled the spot after the accident.
