T’puram: A 25-year-old Kannur native was injured after allegedly falling from a moving train near Edava on Sunday night. The injured was Gokul.The incident occurred around 8pm when the train, Maveli Express, travelling from Thiruvananthapuram towards Kollam, reached the Kannammoodu area near Edava. According to preliminary information, Gokul was allegedly pushed out of the train following an altercation among passengers. After he fell from the moving train, passengers reportedly pulled the emergency chain, bringing the train to a halt.Railway sources said Gokul was subsequently taken on a Memu that arrived at the spot and was handed over at Paravur railway station. He was later shifted to the taluk hospital in Paravur, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His injuries are not believed to be serious, though he sustained multiple wounds on his body.Following the incident, the Maveli Express was reportedly stopped at Kappil railway station.Railway Police have launched an investigation and are examining the circumstances leading to the incident.
