Members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) alleged that the information presented in the exhibition was incomplete and misleading. Claiming that the university was attempting to promote a specific agenda, NSUI activists removed and damaged several banners in protest.Following the incident, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged a demonstration in the evening and met the Vice-Chancellor, demanding that a police complaint be filed against NSUI members. Acting on the representation, the university initiated steps to lodge a complaint against the protesting NSUI activists.Later that night, ABVP members allegedly entered the campus and removed banners put up by NSUI, further escalating tensions. Police personnel reached the campus during the incident to maintain order. On the following day, NSUI activists staged a protest outside the Gujarat University police station, opposing the filing of a complaint against them. They also accused the university administration of allowing political motives to influence campus activities. With both ABVP and NSUI confronting each other, the situation remains tense, raising concerns about further escalation on campus.
