Rourkela: Around 20 artistes of a Jatra troupe were injured after the bus they were travelling in overturned at Palunipada Bhograpala Ghati under Reamal police limits in Deogarh district on Monday. All the injured have been admitted to hospital.According to sources, the bus carrying 25 people, including artistes of the western Odisha opera troupe, was returning from a performance at Dangapathar village under Reamal police station when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle at Palunipada Bhograpala Ghati. The bus overturned around 8 am on Sunday. About 20 artistes and the driver sustained injuries, some of them grievous.Local residents rushed to the spot and rescued the injured. Reamal police officials reached soon after being alerted. The injured were first taken to Kansar PHC. After preliminary treatment, seven critically injured persons were shifted to Deogarh district headquarters hospital, where they have been admitted.Reamal police have seized the bus. “We have seized the bus and our investigation is underway,” said Binay Kerketta, IIC of Reamal police station.
