Hyderabad: Two migrant rice mill workers died in a road accident on the service road next to the national highway at Kodad in Suryapet district during the early hours of Saturday.The deceased were Rajesh, 22, and Shivaji, 23, natives of Bihar. According to police, they had been working at a rice mill in Kodad for the past two years. On Friday night, the two workers borrowed a colleague’s motorcycle and went out to buy liquor.They consumed alcohol at a local shop, and the accident occurred after midnight while they were travelling on the highway service road in the early hours of Saturday. Locals spotted the bodies in the morning and alerted the police.“The bodies of the two workers were found on the boulders in the open space between the service road and the adjacent fields at the Srirangapuram bypass road. Examination of the spot revealed tyre marks on an electric pole at the scene. We suspect their bike rammed into the pole, and they fell onto the roadside boulders along with the bike,” Kodad town inspector Shivashankar Naik said.Police shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination, and a case was registered under Section 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the BNS.
