NEW DELHI: Two minor boys were apprehended for allegedly murdering a 16-year-old during a heated altercation in northeast Delhi’s New Usmanpur on Tuesday.The deceased was identified as Saad, a resident of Loni in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He worked at a factory with the accused.According to the police, information about a male dead body in a pit inside the DDA Park near Jag Pravesh Chandra (JPC) Hospital was received at the New Usmanpur police station around 11.30am Tuesday.Police rushed to the spot to find the body bearing stab injuries and a blood-stained knife next to it.The body was shifted to JPC Hospital for preservation and further legal proceedings.The Forensic Science Team inspected the crime scene and a case under section 103 (murder) of the BNS was registered.A police team was formed to trace and apprehend the accused.“The teams carried out extensive technical surveillance, analysed CCTV footage from the surrounding area, and developed crucial leads,” said DCP (northeast) Rahool Alwal, adding that the body was identified soon after.The senior police officer said that investigation led to the identification and apprehension of two juveniles, aged between 16 and 17 years, both residents of Behta Hajipur, Loni, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.They told cops that they used to work in a factory where Saad allegedly used to bully and harass them often.They said that on Monday, they reportedly lured him to the park on the pretext of purchasing slippers.During a discussion, an altercation broke out, following which they stabbed him with a knife and fled from the spot, police said.
