Mandya: Two people were killed and 25 injured after a private bus overturned near the Bellur toll plaza on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru National Highway in Nagamangala taluk on Thursday.According to police, the bus was travelling from Mangaluru to Bengaluru when it reportedly crashed into a signboard near the toll plaza. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn, injuring several passengers. The deceased were identified as Kasturi Shanbhag, 64, of Bengaluru and Ashok, 25, the bus cleaner.The injured were shifted to BGS Hospital in Bellur for treatment. Most of those injured sustained minor injuries and are out of danger. Bellur police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. Following the accident, Mandya DC Kumara and SP VJ Shobharani visited the spot and reviewed the situation.Officials were instructed to ensure prompt medical care for the injured and provide all necessary assistance. Police and other authorities also took measures to regulate traffic and ensure the safety of motorists on the busy highway.
