Kanpur: A speeding car heading towards Auraiya collided with a tree and overturned into a ditch on the Jalaun-Auraiya road late Friday night in Orai, killing two occupants and seriously injuring two.Police reached the spot and launched a rescue operation, pulling out all four persons trapped in the car.All the injured were immediately sent to Jalaun Hospital, where doctors declared two dead on arrival, and refeered two other critically injured to a Medical College in Orai.The deceased have been identified as Shoaib, Ismail Sheikh while the injured are Arif Ali and Irshad.According to eyewitnesses, the car was moving at very high speed. The vehicle suddenly lost balance and the driver could not maintain control, causing the car to directly hit the tree and overturn into the ditch. The bodies of the deceased have been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. Police are in the process of informing the families of the deceased.Kotwali in-charge Harishankar said that the cause of the accident is being investigated, and necessary legal action is being taken.
