Bhubaneswar: Two workers died at BJB Nagar in the city while trying to open the scaffolding of an under-construction septic tank on Saturday.The incident took place around 2.30 pm. “The workers, upon entering the tank, felt suffocated and due to the shortage of oxygen, they became unconscious,” DCP Jagmohan Meena said quoting preliminary investigation.“Police and fire services personnel rushed to the spot and the workers were brought out. They were taken to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared them dead,” the DCP added.The deceased were identified as Dhuma Tudu (40) of Mayurbhanj district and Prabir Das (56) of East Medinipur, West Bengal. Police said they have registered an unnatural death case and further investigation is on.“Their post-mortem examination will be done at Capital Hospital. Their family members have been informed,” a police officer said.
