Itanagar: Three unidentified armed insurgents allegedly kidnapped two construction workers from a school worksite near India-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district, police said.The incident occurred at around 8 pm on Friday at the under-construction Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) campus in Barap village, under the jurisdiction of Lazu police station.Tirap superintendent of police Aditya Singh said on Sunday three armed cadres entered the construction site and forcibly took a site supervisor and a labourer.“A case has been registered at Lazu police station and an investigation is underway. Joint search and rescue operations involving the police, Assam Rifles and CRPF are currently being conducted across the border belt,” Singh said, adding that further details could not be shared due to operational sensitivity.The safety and whereabouts of the two workers remain unknown.Security agencies are working to establish the identity and organisational affiliation of the group involved, while multi-agency teams continue search operations in the dense forest terrain along the international border.
