Kolkata: The Election Commission is expected to publish the first supplementary list of the voters this weekend, special roll observer Subrata Gupta said on Tuesday. After attending a meeting chaired by the chief justice of the Calcutta High Court, he said: “We hope that the supplementary list will be published on Friday or Saturday. Around 20 lakh pending cases have been disposed of by the judicial officers till now.”On the formation of the tribunal to hear and dispose of appeals from the persons whose names will not be included in the supplementary lists, he replied: “The Calcutta High Court will inform us about the judges selected for the tribunal in the next two-three days. After that, we will make arrangements on behalf of the state govt before they come.”Around 705 judicial officers have been appointed to adjudicate over 60 lakh cases marked as ‘Under Adjudication’ cases, and 1.5 to 2 lakh cases are being cleared every day.
