Nagpur: A 17-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Chandramani Nagar under Ajni police station limits on Monday. The boy had recently failed his Class 12 examination, police said. His father works as an autorickshaw driver, while his mother is a homemaker. He is survived by a younger brother.According to police, the teenager had been under emotional distress following a failed relationship. “Last year, he allegedly attempted to take his own life by jumping from his house, sustaining an eye injury that required surgery. Since then, he had remained under stress,” police said.Police said the boy locked himself in his room on Monday afternoon. When his mother received no response after repeatedly calling out to him, his father, who had just returned home, broke open the door and found him hanging. The family rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Ajni police registered a case of accidental death and initiated further investigation.
