Jaipur: Seventeen Rajasthan Police personnel have completed a specialised course in drone operations at Saptashakti Drone Training School (SSDTS) in Lalgarh Jatan of Sriganganagar.The Police Drone Integration Course covered surveillance, mission planning, flight safety, first-person-view drone simulation, assembly and maintenance, and airspace management.The trainees also conducted surveillance exercises and mission-based flights during the day and at night.Two personnel received Remote Pilot Certificates issued by Directorate General of Civil Aviation through SSDTS.ADG (Law and Order) V K Singh said the training focused on using drones in police operations. The personnel were trained to plan and conduct drone missions and operate the equipment.The police department has prepared a draft roadmap covering 24 proposed applications of drones in policing. It includes their use in surveillance and operations, besides requirements and procedures for their deployment.Police plan to use drones for surveillance, security and other operations, including monitoring drug trafficking across large areas, crowd management and law-and-order duties.The department has been working on expanding the use of drones for these purposes, officials said.
