Jaipur: Union govt’s department of personnel and training (DOPT) Monday issued a notification promoting 16 Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers to Indian Administrative Service (IAS).Among them are Jagveer Singh, joint secretary to CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, and Lalit Kumar, special assistant to deputy CM Diya Kumari.The other 14 officers are Navneet Kumar, Sukhveer Saini, Harphool Singh Yadav, Rajesh Verma, Suresh Chandra, Mahendra Kumar Khinchi, Ajeet Singh Rajawat, Avdhesh Singh, Rakesh Sharma, Brajesh Kumar Chandolia, Har Sahay Meena, Jugal Kishore Meena, Rakesh Rajoria, and Shiv Prasad Singh.In a meeting held June 17 at the UPSC in New Delhi, the names of these 16 officers were approved. A list of 54 RAS officers was sent to UPSC for 19 IAS ranks for the 2024 vacancies through the promotion quota. For now, these IAS officers will continue in their current roles. They will be allocated a cadre year, after which the state’s personnel department will issue orders to give them new postings.
