Lucknow: The UP Police recruitment and promotion board (UPPRPB) will conduct the written examination for direct recruitment to 4,543 posts of sub-inspector (civil police) and equivalent ranks across the state on Mar 14-15.According to the board, a total of 15,75,760 candidates have applied for the recruitment drive, including 11,66,386 male candidates and 4,09,374 female candidates. The written examination will be organised at 1,090 examination centres across all 75 districts of UP. The exam will be conducted in two shifts each day — from 10am-12noon and 3-5 pm.Officials said that only quality institutions have been selected as exam centres. These include govt secondary schools, govt degree colleges, universities run by the state or central govt, polytechnics and govt engineering colleges.To ensure convenience for women candidates, the board has allotted exam centres within their respective divisions wherever possible.The recruitment board has put in place extensive arrangements to ensure that the examination is conducted in a fair, transparent and copying-free manner.A three-tier monitoring system has been established for CCTV surveillance, with control and command centres functioning at the exam centre level, district level and board headquarters.Police personnel will be deployed in adequate numbers at examination centres, and candidates will undergo thorough checking and frisking using handheld metal detectors (HHMD). Separate enclosures have been arranged for the checking of women candidates.Authorities have advised candidates to wear slippers or sandals to avoid inconvenience during security checks, as shoes and socks may need to be removed during frisking.The board has planned for 100% Aadhaar authentication of candidates. Candidates whose identity does not match their application photograph or identification documents will not be permitted to appear for the examination.
