Gurgaon: A 15-year-old boy was allegedly confined, assaulted and threatened by his houseowner’s son and several unidentified men during an alleged forcible eviction from a rented house in New Colony on Thursday. The incident occurred even as a civil dispute over the tenancy was pending before a city court.Police have registered an FIR against the 65-year-old houseowner, her 42-year-old son and five to six unidentified persons.In the complaint filed by the tenant, she said she and her minor son were living on the first floor of the house. She alleged that since mid-July, the landlady and her son had been harassing them by disconnecting the electricity and water supply, locking the main gate and threatening to evict them.The complainant said she approached New Colony police several times between July 14 and July 26 and also sought assistance through the Dial 112 service. She later submitted complaints to senior police officers and filed a civil suit seeking restoration of the electricity and water supply and protection against illegal eviction. Summonses in the case were issued to the respondents a day before the incident.According to the FIR, the woman left home around 9am on Thursday to attend a hearing in the civil case, while her 15-year-old son remained at the house. She alleged that during her absence, the landlady’s son entered the first-floor accommodation through the balcony, confined the boy inside, snatched his mobile phone, assaulted him and threatened to kill him.The complaint further alleged that the man then opened the main entrance and allowed five to six unidentified men into the house. Together, they allegedly removed household belongings and threw them onto the road. The complainant also alleged that some valuables were taken away, while others remained inside the locked premises.The woman said she repeatedly tried calling her son from court but received no response. Concerned, she informed the SHO of New Colony police station around 11am. She later managed to speak to her son, who allegedly told her about the assault and confinement. She further alleged that the accused covered the boy’s mouth to stop him from raising an alarm and kept him under intimidation throughout the incident.The complainant also alleged that furniture, jewellery, important documents, a laptop, office identity card, clothes, kitchen items, air conditioners and other household belongings were either thrown outside or remained in possession of the accused. She claimed her son suffered severe mental trauma following the incident.Based on the complaint and the minor’s medical examination, New Colony police registered an FIR under sections 190 (unlawful assembly), 191(2) (rioting), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 127 (wrongful confinement), 333 (house trespass), 324(4) (mischief) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation) of BNS.A senior police officer said, “We have registered a case and the investigation is underway.”
