Poonch, Sep 17: Fourteen people, including two infants, were injured in a road accident in the Dharana area of Mendhar in Poonch district on Thursday.
All the injured were shifted to Government Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Mendhar, where they are undergoing treatment. Health officials said their condition was stable and they were being kept under observation.
Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan said ambulances and healthcare staff were mobilised immediately after the accident to ensure timely evacuation of the injured.
He said necessary medicines and treatment had been arranged at SDH Mendhar and the injured were being continuously monitored by medical teams.
Khan said he had directed Block Medical Officer Mendhar Dr Gazala Chowdhury to ensure timely and proper treatment of all the injured. He also directed officials to facilitate medical assistance under the PM Relief Scheme for eligible persons.
The CMO said he was personally monitoring the situation and reiterated that all 14 injured were stable.
All the injured are residents of Dharana. Further investigation into the circumstances of the accident is underway.
