Poonch, Jun 29: At least ten labourers were injured on Monday when a Tata Mobile vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and overturned near Dhera Ki Gali in the Bufliaz area of Surankote, Poonch district, officials said.
The labourers, who were engaged in work under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), were on their way to a worksite when the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the accident, they added
Soon after the incident, local residents, led by Beoparmandal President Bufliaz Hadit Khan, rushed to the spot and launched rescue efforts.
The injured were shifted to the Government Hospital in Surankote for treatment.
Hospital authorities said six of the injured labourers sustained minor injuries and were discharged after receiving first aid, while the condition of the remaining four was stated to be stable.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.(KNS)
