Kanpur: A man was killed and five others were injured after a DCM truck collided with a sleeper bus on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kannauj on Sunday. Nafees, the helper riding on the truck, got trapped inside after the accident. The DCM’s cabin had to be cut open to rescue him. He was rushed to Tirwa’s Govt Medical College, where he was declared dead.Police said five people — all bus passengers — were injured. Around 80 passengers were on the bus when the crash happened under the Saurikh police station area, badly damaging the DCM’s front end. The injured are being treated at a hospital in Saurikh.UPEIDA safety officer Manohar Lal said the driver had parked the bus on the expressway’s side when the DCM hit it from behind. The driver and conductor took off after the crash, leaving the bus behind.
