Amritsar: A 33-year-old man was shot dead while sitting in his car outside a chicken shop in Bhullar village on Wednesday night, in what police suspect is a fallout of an old rivalry.The victim, Manjit Singh, was attacked at 10.30pm when assailants arrived and opened fire in front of the victim’s cousin. He was rushed to hospital, but died on the way.Family members alleged that the murder was linked to a previous dispute, for which a case had been registered in 2024. The victim’s cousin, Malkit Singh, claimed the accused had links with gangsters.He said the attackers arrived on a Honda Splendor and two Royal Enfield motorcycles, firing 4–5 rounds. Three of these struck Manjit.Police have registered a case and launched raids to trace the accused.
