Akola: The Local Crime Branch of Akola police cracked a blind murder case within just 12 hours, arresting the accused, Yuvraj Tangle, 41, who allegedly killed a youth over suspicion of an illicit relationship with his wife.The case came to light on May 22 when the body of an unidentified youth was discovered near a railway underpass in the Bodarkhed farmland area under the Borgaon Manju police station limits. The face had been brutally smashed with a stone. A T-shirt was wrapped around the neck, with the victim wearing only pants.Borgaon Manju Police registered a case. Superintendent of police Archit Chandak directed the Local Crime Branch to take charge of the probe.Multiple teams led by police inspector Shankar Shelke were formed to identify the deceased and trace the accused. Police examined missing persons reports from Akola and nearby districts.A breakthrough came through a informant, who revealed that a youth from Yavatmal, identified as Vicky alias Bablu Bhende, had been missing since the night of May 21. Police coordinated with Avdhutwadi police station, which confirmed the identity of the deceased as Vicky alias Bablu Bhende (19), a resident of Gurunanak Nagar, Godhani Road, Yavatmal.Police investigated the victim’s recent activities and personal connections, which eventually led them to the accused.
