T’puram: Pothencode police on Tuesday arrested Kannur native K V Anuraj, 23, for allegedly sexually assaulting two 14-year-old girls after befriending them on Instagram.According to police, Anuraj first contacted one of the girls through the social media platform and later got acquainted with her friend. Police said he allegedly pretended to be romantically interested in the girls and travelled from Kannur to Pothencode with the intention of sexually assaulting them.Police said he entered the house of one girl when she was alone and allegedly assaulted her. He then allegedly used her Instagram account to contact her friend and asked the second girl to come to the house, where she too was allegedly assaulted.The accused reportedly left around midnight after the girls’ family members had gone to sleep. Police said he later blocked both girls on Instagram. The case surfaced after the first girl’s family filed a complaint. The police registered two Pocso cases in connection with the incident.
