Pune: Bund Garden police on Saturday arrested a 21-year-old unemployed man, for allegedly robbing a gold chain worth Rs 1.95 lakh from a college student after assaulting him and his three friends near a pub off Raja Bahadur Mill Road around 12.15am on Friday.Police said the suspect’s health deteriorated after his arrest and he was admitted to Sassoon General Hospital.Senior inspector Santosh Pandhare of Bund Garden police said, “The suspect frequently roams around the pub area in his SUV. Late on Thursday night, he had visited a pub and was leaving the area when the incident took place.”Pandhare said, “Four MBA students were walking between two pubs late Thursday night when a man driving an SUV repeatedly honked at them, sparking an argument. The dispute soon turned into a scuffle, during which the driver allegedly snatched one student’s gold chain and fled.”He added that the police team examined CCTV footage from the pubs and identified the registration number of the SUV. “The suspect was later nabbed on Raja Bahadur Mill Road on Saturday,” he said.
